Mill Rise Village scoops national award
Mill Rise extra care village in North Staffordshire has won two national awards at the ‘UK Over 50s Housing Awards’. Designed by One, Mill Rise Village was crowned the ‘UK’s most outstanding Extra Care Scheme 2009’, with centre manager Diana Wilson also awarded the prize for ‘Extra Care General Manager of the Year 2009,’ at a prestigious ceremony in London.
This exciting development in Newcastle-under-Lyme, is one of the largest developments of its kind and one of the first schemes outside of London to combine extra care housing for the over 55s with a state-of-the-art primary care centre. The village combines functional and attractive environments, for health professionals and service users with homely apartments and active communal spaces for extra care residents and their guests.
