Associate Director / Technical Director of Landscape Architecture

Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join our landscape team in Worcester as an Associate Director/Technical Director of Landscape Architecture. In this role, supported by the board Director, you will lead and manage the landscape architecture department, providing strategic direction, technical expertise, and creative leadership to deliver outstanding projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the landscape architecture team, providing mentorship, guidance, and support to staff members. (If this is your first senior management role, support will be provided by the Director of Landscape).
  • Oversee the development and implementation of landscape design projects from concept to completion, ensuring high-quality design solutions that meet client objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand project goals, develop design briefs, and deliver innovative and sustainable landscape solutions.
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources effectively to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in landscape architecture, and integrate innovative design approaches into project work.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment that promotes creativity, professional growth, and teamwork.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture or related field.
  • Chartered Member of the Landscape Institute (CMLI) or equivalent professional accreditation preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in landscape architecture, with a proven track record of leading and managing complex projects across various sectors.
  • Strong design and technical skills, with proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and other relevant design software.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with clients, consultants, and team members.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, including the ability to inspire and motivate team members, foster collaboration, and drive results.
  • Passion for sustainability, placemaking, and creating landscapes that enhance the well-being of communities.
