ONE attends reception at Falkland House

ONE Creative environments’ (ONE’s) Chairman was delighted to attend a reception at Falkland House in London (12/2/2026).
The reception hosted by Richard Hyslop, the Falkland Island Governments’ Representative to the UK and Europe, was attended by Dame Harriett Baldwin MP DBE, Shadow Minister for Business and Trade and member of the Treasury Committee, as well as ONE’s Chairman, Mark Martin.
The meeting was an opportunity to discuss developments on the islands with ONE having successfully designed and delivered many projects there. Most recently this included Tussac House, the first purpose-built extra care facility on the Falkland Islands, which opened its doors last year.
Tussac House is a state-of-the art new care facility positioned on the coast of Stanley Harbour overlooking the Narrows. This pioneering 3,600m2 development set a new benchmark for social care and assisted living on the islands providing a high-quality, adaptable environment for older people, individuals with disabilities or learning difficulties, and those requiring dementia care.
The meeting also provided the opportunity to present the Falkland Island Governments’ Representative with two awards that Tussac House has received:
- Structural Timber Awards – Healthcare Project of the Year 2025
- RIBA Worcestershire Architecture Awards – Excellent Contribution to Sustainability 2025.
Richard Hyslop, Falkland Islands Government Representative to the United Kingdom and Europe, said: “When I was back in the Islands I visited Tussac House and was blown away by the quality of the facilities and the level of care provided. I had with me a group of MPs from Westminster, one of whom had a background in the care sector before entering politics, and they were all thoroughly impressed with Tussac House, considering it better that any care home they had seen in the UK.”
Dame Harriett Baldwin MP DBE, added: “The Falkland Islands work with many UK businesses and this ceremony was a fantastic opportunity to reinforce our important relationship and celebrate a notable Worcestershire business success.”
