ONE is selected for the Show Windows project

Posted: 18 May 2021

ONE Creative environments (ONE) is delighted to have been chosen for the Show Windows exhibition which is part of the Coventry U.K. City of Culture 2021 celebrations.

The RIBA is partnering with Coventry BID and Coventry UK City of Culture Trust on the project that pairs selected Chartered architects with Coventry’s retail outlets to create captivating architectural and artistic installations in shop windows within the city centre.

The Show Windows is inspired by Wizard of Oz author, L. Frank Baum’s book about shop window design and follows on from the success of RIBA’s Regent Street Windows project in 2018. His term, ’show windows’ has inspired the project and the brief to architects and artists, to create immersive pieces that invite audiences to journey to other places, and to celebrate the locations and people that will help display the artworks.

Four architects’ practices have been chosen for this exciting project and ONE’s team is looking forward to getting started.

Emily Kippen, Associate Architect at ONE, said: “We are absolutely delighted to have been selected for The Show Windows. We can’t wait to find out which business we have been paired with and to start designing. Congratulations to everyone included in the announcement and who will be part of this exciting project.”

Matt Tebbatt, Managing Director at ONE, said: “We pride ourselves on innovative solutions for all our clients and this is a fantastic creative and artistic challenge. We firmly believe in supporting the high street and as a company have helped areas to secure millions of pounds in Future High Street funding. How fantastic to also be a part of the Coventry U.K. City of Culture 2021 celebrations – what a great project.”
