ONE Scoops 4 Constructing Excellence Awards

Posted: 9 December 2020

ONE Creative environments (ONE) is proud to have won 4 categories at the CE West Midlands virtual awards on Friday (4 December 2020).

ONE was awarded the trophies for Digital Construction, Innovation and Sustainability. The team was also recognised alongside colleagues in the Special Recognition award for a recent NHS rapid pace project (delivered in just 3 weeks from inception to handover) for a new emergency triage facility urgently required in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The company is an early adopter of technology and is continually looking to explore, innovate and leverage BIM technology:

  • The Digital Construction Award was for the Virtual Mockup developed with Multiplex which has previously won industry awards. This process delivers all the benefits of a physical mockup (and more) but at less than 5% of the cost – a process which is now available to ONE’s clients.
  • The Innovation Award was due to ONE’s R&D project with BESA and Northumbria University using SFG20 codes to establish an efficient way of adding data into BIM to enable Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) Schedules to be extracted early in the design stage and/or at building handover. This innovation has the potential to save clients tens/hundreds of thousands of pounds: best value decisions can be made early on specification requirements and clients understand their assets’ maintenance requirements, can predict operational lifecycle costs and efficient maintenance programmes can be developed well in advance of building handover.

ONE is a company with strong sustainability credentials and also won the CE Sustainability Award for Tanworth Court. This is an exemplar building where the council’s investment in sustainable solutions provided by ONE’s MEP team is protecting frontline services. This project also won the Sustainable Achievement award at last year’s Healthcare Estates.

Jason Whittall, ONE’s Director, said: “We are very proud to have won these prestigious awards across these four categories. Congratulations to all finalists and thank you to Constructing Excellence for the recognition and a fantastic virtual ceremony – we look forward to the National final in January 2021.”

All regional winners including ONE will now go forward to the National final which takes place on 29 January 2021. Further details and the winners can be viewed here.
