ONE is part of the programme at this years’ Healthcare Estates

The team will be sharing their experience of healthcare projects more than 8,000 miles away at the 2019 Healthcare Estates Conference.

Matt Tebbatt, Managing Director of One, will be presenting on “Modernising Hospital Services in the Falkland Islands” as part of the main event.

One works closely with the Falkland Islands’ Government (FIG) to deliver the FIG’s vision for a new model of care for the islands. This has included designing Tussac House, the islands’ first purpose-built extra care facility for vulnerable people, as well as designing phase one of the extension and modernisation improvements for King Edwards VII Memorial Hospital (KEMH) which is the islands’ only hospital.

Matt will provide an insight into the challenges of designing and rolling out modern healthcare solutions in remote geographical locations whilst ensuring that distance is no barrier, for example, through offsite solutions, improved energy use/resilience and effective stakeholder engagement and working partnership.

The event, which takes place on 8 and 9 October 2019, is the UK’s largest event for healthcare estates, engineers and facilities management professionals and attracts a large audience across the two days. Matt’s presentation will take place from 14:40-15:00 on the second day.

Earlier this year, One received Highly Commended in the Design in Mental Health awards for the Falkland Islands vulnerable persons extra care facility in the Project of the Year New Build category. One’s team has once again been shortlisted in the Healthcare Estate’s prestigious awards – this time for the Sustainable Achievement award for the Tanworth Lane Dementia Care Facility.
