Project Overview

A new state-of-the-art endoscopy unit is being delivered alongside the Community Diagnostic Centre in West Swindon, significantly expanding local access to vital diagnostic services. Opened in January 2026, the unit will support up to 6,000 patients annually, providing planned gastroscopy and colonoscopy procedures closer to home.

By shifting more diagnostics out of hospital settings and into the community, the project will help reduce waiting times, improve early diagnosis, and make care more accessible for local people.

This development forms part of a wider regional programme to modernise healthcare delivery and increase capacity across Bath and North East Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire, ensuring patients receive faster, more convenient care in their local communities.
